Whether you are a fan of them or not, the name IV of Spades will certainly ring a bell. The band is one of the rising bands of the OPM scene, you might have repeatedly heard about their songs in the radio, your friend’s Spotify playlist, or even from supermarkets.

What makes this band stand out aside from their distinct music is their aesthetics and fashion style. Their usual get up will certainly remind you of the 70s —from their hairstyles, glasses, polos, the complete package. This throwback look with the 2018 aesthetic along with their local funk music makes them easily one of the best bands of today.

But recently on their official social media page, the band posted that their lead singer and rhythm guitarist Unique Salonga officially leaving the band to continue his personal endeavors.

“Yesterday, May 4, we finally had the chance to talk as a band. Unique Salonga officially left the band to continue with his personal endeavors,” the remaining three members Zildjian Benitez, Blaster Silonga, and Badjao de Castro said in the statement.

Despite the circumstances, the three-member group promised to still perform and share their music in the coming weeks. Fans and their supporters were surprised Unique’s early exit from the band. In the comments section, they expressed both support and disappointment in the band’s move.

If you’re missing Unique and the IV of Spades songs, here are their iconic songs you should listen to:

IV of Spades is a now three-member group with Blaster Silonga as the lead guitarist, Zildjian Benitez as backing vocals and bassist, and Badjao de Castro as the drummer.
