We are naturally adventurous when it comes to food. As Pinoy foodies, we love to explore various possibilities of available ingredients in our kitchen. A lot of Filipinos enjoy weird food combinations like tuyo and champorado, and even the famous puto and dinuguan pairing.

For breakfast, a good combination of food and condiments are at play in our favorite food, Tapsilog. You may want to pour some vinegar on the tapa, plus catsup drizzled on top of the sunny-side-up egg. The sweet and salty combination of tapa and egg paired with garlic rice completes the breakfast experience

Recently, the internet was taken by a storm of a lot of unheard of (and odd) food combinations that are surprisingly tasty. Check out these oddly delicious viral food combinations you should definitely give a try.

Cauliflower Popcorn

Who said you can’t enjoy eating popcorn when you’re on a diet? You don’t have to worry about ruining your diet with cauliflower popcorn! This weird vegetable snack will be your healthy addiction!

The crunchy and savory taste of roasted cauliflower is a great snack for those who wanted to trim down the calories without sacrificing so much. Whisk some olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss the cauliflower to coat, then bake it in the oven (200 °C) for 15-18 minutes.

This is best enjoyed with some parmesan cheese sprinkled to give a little bit salty flavor. You can also dip it with a little bit of buffalo sauce.

Spaghetti Creamer

Ever heard of Spaghetti topped with creamer? Some netizens discovered this odd but tasty hack when they mixed Mcdonald’s spaghetti and two to three sachets of creamer into a creamier version of spaghetti.

But before you say “Eww,” this food hack might be a great way to explore new food. If we can accept Carbonara and Chicken Alfredo, maybe this weird food combination could be acceptable too.

Convenience Store Ramen & Cheese

If you’re an avid fan of Korean dramas or Korean variety shows, this idea might not be new to you. There are a lot of convenient store scenes on Korean TV shows that we all too familiar with this unique food hack.

You can buy any ramen-flavored cup noodle in the store. Alternatively, you can get the sweet and spicy flavor of pancit canton. Cook it for 3 minutes and drain the water.

You can get a slice or two of cheese and microwave it for 30 seconds to a minute to get the cheesy explosion of flavors. Eat it while it’s hot and you’re good to go.

Unlimited Yakult

One viral odd combo is the unlimited Yakult. It’s not really unlimited, but it converts your usual 65 ml daily dose of your favorite probiotic drink to a 500 ml taste of goodness. You just have to mix Yakult with Oishi’s Lemon Squeeze drink to savor the taste.

A lot of people tried this mixture, it sparked the interest of people in social media. It gained divided responses whether it’s good or not. It’s fun to be adventurous, just be careful in mixing liquids, though.

Sesame Chocolate

Imagine your usual buchi but with a twist! Instead of having a flour-based dough, you’ll have chocolate cookie dough rolled over sesame seeds. Toast the sesame seeds first to have that crunchy and salty flavor mixed with the mixed with the sweet fudgy taste of the chocolate ball.

The internet really discovers a lot of weird but satisfying food combinations for foodies to try next.
