10 Go-To Restaurants For The Meatless Time Of The Year

No need to think hard. We got picks for this meatless time of the year.

It looks like this season of going meatless will be missed. Restaurants in Manila do their best to serve the tastiest non-meat dishes especially made for this Lenten season. One thing’s sure. You will definitely love them! But hey, since some of those dishes won’t be available forever, just binge on those while you still can.

Here are the 10 restaurants you can go to this lenten season:

10. Pepper Lunch

LENTEN DEAL 2 —- Delicious meatless meal with Teriyaki Double Salmon with Rice and Soup for only P395 in Pepper Lunch Restaurant branches and P278 in Pepper Lunch Express branches. Available until March 31, 2018. #pepperlunchph

Pepper Lunch got two awesome deals for you. Have fun slicing, tossing and mixing everything with this Salmon Pepper Rice with Soup (P275 in Pepper Lunch Restaurant branches and P225 in Pepper Lunch Express branches). You can opt to get more with the Teriyaki Double Salmon with Rice and Soup (P395 in Pepper Lunch Restaurant branches and P278 in Pepper Lunch Express branches). The servings are satisfying for really, really hungry eaters. These two deals that you can never resist will end on March 31.

Pepper Lunch has several branches nationwide. Check its website for the full list.

9. Mexicali

Whoever said that Lenten meals taste so bland just never heard of Mexicali’s Cuaresma meals. These Chili con Soyrizo (bowl-P299; cup-125) and Baja Fish Burrito (P280) are so flavorful that you might forget how you miss your favorite meaty burrito! The first one is legitimately spicy but not the scary type. LOL. The second is perfectly cooked and the taste can really compete to be your next favorite burrito flavor!

Mexicali has 18 branches that can be found here.

8. Juicesabel

You might wonder if we’re sure about putting this Double Patty Cheeseburger (P160), Mac & Cheese (P150) and especially the Full Sisig (P150) on this list. Well, we’re not kidding! Juicesabel transformed our meaty favorites into vegan ones. Everything you’ll see on their menu is made of faux or vegan meat that tastes like real meat. The best part? These are not just for the Lenten season but for the whole year and the next years! Some things are meant to stay.

Juicesabel is located at The Collective, 7274 Malugay Street, San Antonio Village, Makati City.

7. Corner Tree Cafe

Joining the market of vegan meat is the Corner Tree Cafe. One of their bestsellers is the Vegetable Nut Roast (P310) which has two slices of vegan meatloaf. As usual, you wouldn’t know it’s just pretending to be meat. Even the tasty gravy is vegan-based! For a light meal, the Grilled Asparagus Panini in Ciabatta Bread (P340) is our top pick. It’s satisfying both for your taste buds and for your diet.

Corner Tree Cafe is located at 150 Jupiter Street, Bel-Air, Makati.

6. The Aristocrat Restaurant

The Aristocrat Restaurant uses the tagline, “Breakfast, daily lunch, dinner. It never gets boring with us.” Well, while we need to forget our favorite Aristocrat barbecue for a while, it looks like they still got us covered. Their seafood specials excite the seafood lover in all of us! A plus point is they are giving us a lot of options like Ginataang Tilapia (P285), Sweet and Sour Lapu-Lapu (P495-P745), Paksiw na Tiyan ng Bangus (P350) and a lot more.

The Aristocrat Restaurant has several branches nationwide. Check its website for the full list.

5. 8 Cuts Burgers

8 Cuts Burgers has been our go-to place for our ultimate burger fix and they never disappoint. Just when we thought we would miss them this Lenten season, they give us a reason not to. They cooperate with our Lenten commitment with their Softshell Crab ‘Wich! The best part? It’s just P299! We bet you’ll wanna eat this every day. Hey 8 Cuts, can this be on your menu for good? For better or worse?

8 Cuts Burgers has 9 branches. See the list on their website.

4. Bag O’ Shrimps

Time to get those hands dirty again! We don’t know about you but eating without utensils still gives the best feeling ever. What more if you’ll get to binge on the tastiest shrimps in town? For just P595, this mouth-watering dream can come to life. The serving is already good for 2-4 people. Other seafood favorites such as crabs, clams, and mussels are also available.

Bag O’ Shrimps is at 3rd Floor Me Atrium, SM Megamall; Tuscany, Upper McKinley Road, McKinley Hill, Taguig; and Dual Star Building, Brixton Street, Kapitolyo, Pasig.

3. Crab n’ Crew

Crabs are the lead star here. Many go here for the biggest and the freshest crabs in the metro. These are marinated in distinct spices and sauces just so you can’t get enough. Meanwhile, their menu boasts of having every kind of seafood you can think of. You can have a taste of almost everything with their Seafood Platter (P1 199). Seafood bags are also available (P120-1 200, depending on the size and type of seafood). Feel free to lick your fingers with every bite!

Crab n’ Crew is located at Land Strong, 77 Visayas Avenue, Quezon City.

2. Blackbeard’s Seafood Island

Most of the time, there’s a long queue at Blackbeard’s Seafood Island and we totally understand. The ambiance is so welcoming. The prices are budget-friendly (P1 999 for the Garlic Seafood Delight and P1 250 for the Island Sinugba Espesyal, both good for 3-4 people). The boodle fight concept of the food’s presentation is definitely Insta-worthy. This is a place that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Blackbeard’s Seafood Island has several branches. Check this for the full list.

1. Little India Healthy Cuisine

The name says it all. This authentic Indian restaurant serves the healthiest and yummiest dishes that seem to be straight from India! Their vegan dishes even use 100% natural herbs and spices. The result is the taste that won’t be found anywhere else. Give it a try, and you might want to eat their Indian food for the rest of your life. For just P150-P300, you’ll have super happy taste buds and a full tummy!
