Here's Everything You Need To Know About 2018 UP Fair!

Your Favorite Bands are Playing at the U.P. Fair this February!

The biggest and most popular names in the OPM industry are coming together for the annual fair of the University of the Philippines! To be held on February 13 to 17, the UP Fair is a 5-day, student-organized event held at the Sunken Garden in UP Diliman, which aims to raise social awareness and promote various advocacies through great music and celebration.

This year, the theme of the UP Fair is “Sa Tugtog Mo’y Buhay”, a play on a line from the Lupang Hinirang. The shows are especially dedicated to the people of and the soldiers in Marawi. The concerts are held at night (up to the wee hours of the following morning!), with each one focusing on a specific socially relevant topic.

February 13 (Tue): REV

The UP Fair kicks off with a loud bang at the Rev music festival. Short for Revolution, Rev aims to uphold democracy. Slated to perform are BP Valenzuela, Philia, Rice Lucido, Markus Highway, Bobby Balingit, The Jerks, Luna, Pugo en da Band, Smooth Sal Sweet, Carmensita, Cordcoil, The MotherCampers, The Roomhoppers, The General Strike, Plagpul, Lion and the Scouts, Ben&Ben, Autotelic, and Sileph, as well as hard rock legends Slapshock, Queso, Greyhoundz, and Dong Abay. Homegrown talents UP Repertory Company and Sinagbayan will also be performing.

February 14 (Wed): FLAMES

Valentine’s Day is best enjoyed with good music; thus, the UP Fair is giving us Flames, where all forms of love are celebrated. Whether you are single or in a relationship, you will surely feel the love with songs from Up Dharma Down and Ebe Dancel, along with Better Days, Beans, Awkweird, Awktard, By All Odds, High Hello, Pinkmen, Sofa Sky, The Heady Days, Stef Aranas, Gloc9, the Itchyworms, Ben&Ben, MYMP, Gracenote, Moonstar88, and Rivermaya.

February 15 (Thurs): ELEMENTS

Upholding human rights is the theme for Elements, focusing on the right to transparency and due process. The acts have been divided into 4 elements: earth, water, air, and fire (of which 2 already have Spotify playlists!). Parokya ni Edgar is headlining the event. Other artists that will surely get you hyped up include Pusakalye, Bandido, Stlo, Sunday Radio, The Ridleys, Kissling, Sileph, Adminus, Lunar Lights, BennyBunnyBand, Monolog, Leanne and Naara, Brisom, Soapdish, Ben&Ben, Mayonnaise, Gloc9, Sponge Cola, Rocksteddy, and the Itchyworms.

February 16 (Fri): Cosmos

Friday night at the UP Fair means Cosmos, with a theme of equality for all. Brought to us by Vivo and Frontrow Media International, Cosmos features performances by Ben&Ben, Munimuni, Tanya Markova, Rocksteddy, Barbie Almabis, Aia de Leon,  Mayonnaise,  Soapdish, Itchyworms, Callalily, Hale, Ebe Dancel, Silent Sanctuary, Leanne and Naara, Save Me Hollywood, Absolute Playlist, Square One, Letter Day Story, Unit 406, Miro Valera,  Paraluman, Monolog, Lola Amour, IV of Spades, Collie Herb, and Any Name’s Okay.

February 17 (Sat): ROOTS

Lastly, the last day of the UP Fair brings us Roots, which calls for peace in Mindanao. The final event is co-presented by One Music PH, and the performances will be livestreamed at onemusic.ph. A variety of artists are bringing their music to the Saturday night stage, including Son of a Peach, Amara, Capacities, TheSunManager, With Fingers Crossed, Stomachine, Wish Sticks, Shirebound and Busking, tide/edit, Pedicab, IV of Spades, Autotelic, Ben&Ben, and Orange & Lemons. Roots will also showcase much-awaited performances by Imago, Sandwich, Urbandub, Franco, and Aegis.

Where to get your tickets

Tickets for the concerts are not limited to UP students. Prices are: P80 – UP Diliman students
P160 – general admission
P200 – door charge

Tickets can be bought at various ticket stations of the individual concert handlers (see the specific links above), as well as on the PlatinumList website. For UP Diliman students, please bring your validated UP ID or original/photocopied Form 5.

Week-long passes and specific concert tickets are currently being given away. In addition, aside from concert tickets, merchandise (stickers, t-shirts, etc.) are also available for the various events.
