Craving for authentic Indonesian dishes? Warung Indo is ready to serve!

Makati never runs out of awesome places waiting to be discovered, and we found another one!

At first glance, Warung Indo does not seem to be special enough to be a great hangout place. The facade is not inviting at all. There is nothing grand about the interiors and the name is not that big. You wouldn’t know you are welcome to eat here unless you look more closely.

Well then, this is the best time to not judge the place by its unassuming appearance. Warung Indo serves authentic flavors that would bring you to Indonesia in an instant! Some of the dishes have Chinese fusion but the Indonesian aroma is always there. What more? They are ready to serve 24 hours every day except on Sundays!

Here are some of their bestsellers:

5. Ayam Penyet (P180)

This is the traditional Indonesian marinated fried chicken. You can have it with plain rice but this special fried rice is definitely worth the try! The side dish is dried coconut with curry and chili. Just a little warning, the chili is spicier than usual. Putting everything you see altogether on one plate made this burst with a lot of flavors.

4. Bakmie Goreng Ayam (P180 for chicken, P210 for seafood)

You can have this in chicken or seafood flavor. This fried noodle dish is cooked well. Servers say that this is spicy. That’s true but not spicy enough to regret taking a bite. It is good on its own. If you want it to be really more interesting, you can ask for special sauces that you can mix in.

3. Laksa Bogor (P250)

It looks this got everything we like on laksa! This Indonesian laksa has vermicelli, chicken, shrimp and boiled egg with coconut gravy. The coconut gravy is the bomb! The best part? You can make your laksa more soupy by asking for more coconut gravy. They would happily oblige.

2. Kwee Tiaw Goreng Ayam (P180 for chicken, P240 for seafood)

This can be really hard to find in other Indonesian restaurants here. Some that have this only disappoint because of lacking the legit Indonesian flavor. Now we know where we can get our kwee tiaw fix! We are not exaggerating. This is really the most flavorful kwee tiaw in the metro!

1. Nasi Goreng Dengan Sate Ayam, Telur & Kerupuk (P225)

This is the first dish that comes to mind when talking of Indonesian restaurants. No wonder this is the crowd favorite. Nasi Goreng is the Indonesian version of fried rice. It is matched with three sticks of chicken satay, egg omelette and prawn crackers. The taste of the peanut sauce in the chicken satay is not too much. It’s the best to be that way. Trust us when we say this satisfying enough to keep you coming back.

Most of the dishes at Warung Indo are not higher than P250 and good for sharing. You can make it even more affordable with our Insider tip! Come any time between midnight and 7am. They got a happy hour treat with a fixed price of P150 for anything priced over P150 on the menu.

Warung Indo is located at Ground Floor, LPL Manor, 116 Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Makati.
