Being the Philippines’ financial capital, Makati City is unsurprisingly full of coffee shops where professionals can relax and let off some steam.

Whether you’re in the CBD or the outer corners of the city, there’s bound to be a place to grab your daily caffeine fix.

If you live (or work) anywhere near Makati, you’ll be glad to know that there’s more to the city’s coffee scene than Starbucks and CBTL. Aside from the 10 Makati coffee shops we mentioned before, here are 10 more places in Makati where you can grab your favorite cup of joe.

10. Metro9 Café

Metro9 Café might not ring any bells, unless you live near the corner of Buendia (a.k.a. Gil Puyat Avenue) and South Superhighway (a.k.a. Osmeña Highway).

Located just beside The Collective along Malugay Street, Metro9 serves a delectable House Special plus a refreshing collection of Taiwanese milk teas. Did we mention they have free Wi-Fi too?

9. YDG Coffee

Searching for the Makati branch of YDG Coffee is like, as one Zomato reviewer creatively put it, “cross(ing) two rivers and fight(ing) trolls to reach the pot of gold.”

Colorful metaphors aside, YDG Coffee is about a few blocks away from the Magallanes MRT station, behind the Roche Bobois building and beside Basil Makati. Once you find it, prepare to be greeted with Star Wars memorabilia — and tasty coffee! — courtesy of the café’s friendly and kalog baristas.

Address: G/F ID Furniture Center, 2100 Don Chino Roces Ave. Extension, Magallanes, Makati City

Hours: 8:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.

8. Wilde (formerly Writer’s Block)

Among The Alley at Karrivin’s many “denizens” is Wilde, the cafe formerly known as Writer’s Block.

We’re not sure why they changed their name, but we are sure about one thing: their comfy atmosphere and beverages are sure to melt your creative blocks away!

A stone’s throw away from 8065 Bagnet — another Makati hole-in-the-wall that you should totally check out! — Coffee 8065 serves sandwiches, pasta, garlic rice meals, 8065 specials, and cold and hot beverages. They also have a mini-library inside, so you can indulge your inner bookworm while waiting for your order.

5. Arc & Vine Café

Don’t let this café’s (small) size fool you. Like many hole-in-the-wall coffee shops, Arc & Vine offers an atmosphere and service that more than makes up for its lack of space.

Occasionally, they hold creative workshops in here, so make sure to keep tabs on their calendar!

Address: G/F Graceland Place, Zapote cor. Ponte St., Makati City

Hours: 11:30 A.M. – 8:30 P.M. (Monday – Friday), 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. (Saturday)

4. Tenant Manila

Love surfing AND coffee? You won’t find a better place to stay than Tenant Manila!

They have a shop dedicated to surfer gear and fashion on the second floor, so if you’re pumped for summer as early as now, head over to this joint along Kamagong Street.

Hours: 12:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. (Tuesday – Saturday), 12:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M. (Sunday)

3. Zoo Coffee

If you’re anywhere near RCBC Plaza or The Columns, you’re in luck: Zoo Coffee offers a furry retreat from Makati’s steel skyscrapers and noisy roads.

Aside from stuffed animals (don’t worry, they’re synthetic!), You can see that Zoo Coffee has baristas dressed as forest explorers, hot and cold beverages, and some of the largest bingsus you’ll ever see around the Metro.

Address: G/F Alphaland Makati Place, Ayala Ave. Extension cor. Malugay St., Makati City

Hours: 24/7

2. Habitual Coffee

Situated along the busy Pasong Tamo, Habitual Coffee is a place where office professionals, gym junkies and pretty much anyone who loves coffee can hang out.

Assuming that you make a habit of coming here, don’t forget to try out their walnut-topped caramel macchiato waffles. It’s a filling breakfast all on its own!

Hours: 8:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. (Monday – Saturday), 11:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. (Sunday)

1. The Rabbit Hole

Unfortunately for weekenders, The Rabbit Hole is only open from Mondays to Fridays. But if you still want to drop by, expect a whimsical atmosphere a la Alice in Wonderland (hence the name) and tasty cakes that will definitely dig a rabbit-sized hole in your wallet.

Hours: 11:00 A.M. – 10:00 P.M. (Monday – Friday)
